Marks For Now (Abstract)

This is a piece which continues my Random Scribbling Series or Asemic writing. I’m not the best with words so feel comfortable with this kind of mark making. Being a large piece one has to approach it as if it is small to view the details. Wild mark making releases energy from an unknown source, one has to not think and let go. marksfornow_oil_wax_Marks For Now                                      60×72 oil/was on canvas

Flooding (El Rancho New Mexico)

It’s was about two months before now that a storm came through that everyone had to get out and look at the raging water. When it rains big here it is a community event. I remember once a little old lady (older than me) drove up to the dip which is depicted in this piece and stopped. She thought a bit and decided to go for it. It would have been fine as it wasn’t too terribly deep but she stopped right in the middle. She was scared of all the water surrounding her car and froze. I was there and a few other onlookers. We knew that she was going to be ok as the water was subsiding and her car wasn’t moving. We called 911 and let them know and waited for someone to rescue her. Someone from the pueblo came and pulled her out. She was a lucky little old lady….

Bordello (Sex Workers)

I have had the pleasure of having a guest in El Rancho that did professional sex work. Don’t ask who as I don’t recall.  I learned a little about the business. Just saying that if the art world doesn’t work out being a dominatrix may be the way to go. I learned it is very hard work and requires extra education. I would need to do an internship with an expert to learn the does and don’t or ins and outs.

After much discussion, I decided to be a Dominatrix specializing in financial art decisions. This would entail going with my client around the world looking at art and being there to dominate when it came to purchasing art. So if you know of anyone who is interested (NO SEX) just dominating on art decision, let me know. I would be very good at this, male or female clients welcome. Of course, a financial statement would be required and personal references. The terms can be worked out for each client. Some call this an art consultant but I prefer to be called an art dominatrix.

Life Force Of Creativity (Abstract)

Something new and fun. Gouache paintings torn up and then glued back together.

Also want to share something I found on Brain Pickings which was just what every artist needs to read. Check the link below and enjoy.

The Land Grabber’s House ( When is a painting finished)

This photo was taken through instagram with an earlybird filter. I have just always love that filter, to me it looks like an old 70’s polaroid photo. The story behind the land grabber’s house, the man who owned this house fenced in an additional 4 acres which belonged to the state of New Mexico and put a new mobile home on it. He was found out and lost everything. Nice try. When working on the panel below the photo it was to be an abstract. From my poor dwindling memory came land grabber’s house. Some thing just want to be. When do you know that a painting is finished? Best stop before.
